Beads are engraved…

I brought this item because it contains two wrist malas. So, I can wear one on each wrist or choose between wearing either the brown or black one. The quality is excellent compared to other mala beads that I have seen. Note that each bead is lightly engraved with a buddhist symbol.

The brown wooden mala beads are fading in color after only a couple of weeks. They are turning green.

Excellent Mala Beads!

Since my old mala bead’s string have worn out, I thought I should get another one (The string is hard to replace, especially with that complicated knot you see on the picture…)

The malas sold by Reorient was almost identical ones to my old one, except that the new wooden beads were slightly more brittle and large, as well as less elegantly carved. However, I got the old bead as a gift from my Buddhist friend and I am very sure that it was a lot more expensive than the pair sold here at the Amazon.

The things that I am most satisfied with these malas are prices (buy one get one free?) and bold colors.

These beads can be excellent accessories for your wrist even if you aren’t Buddhist.

I am pretty picky on malas style and these beads satisfy me very much!

Look no further, I will definitely get another pair of these same beads if they worn out.

Product Description

Mala Beads are a Buddhist tool of meditation. They are moved in rhythm with the breath and mantra of the meditation. The action of moving the beads keeps sleep and distraction at bay and incorporates more of the whole body in the meditation. Each time the mantra is repeated, the fingers move to the next bead. The mala is meant to focus the mind and promote clear thought about the meaning of the mantra as it is chanted. Schools of thought, from India, to Tibet, to China recommend different ways of holding and counting Mala beads, but these are mostly local idiosyncrasies. However each meditation should encompass the full cycle of beads. Longer meditations should include additional full cycles, starting at the summit and circling around again to the beginning.

Wrist malas can be used for short simple meditations, as simple jewelry accessories, or as a constant reminder of lessons learned during meditation.
